About Me

Pedro Henrique Bugatti (Pedro H. Bugatti) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computing (DC) at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar). He received his Ph.D. and MSc. in Computer Science from the University of São Paulo (ICMC-USP) under the supervision of Dr. Agma Juci Machado Traina. His research focuses on advancing Artificial Intelligence, with an emphasis on computer vision, multimodal learning, and interpretable modeling. In 2018, he was a Visiting Researcher at the University of Maryland (UMD), College Park, at the Institute for Advanced Computer Studies (UMIACS), working under the guidance of Dr. Larry S. Davis. His current research seeks to bridge fundamental AI research with applications in complex and real-world environments (e.g., healthcare, agriculture, and other socially relevant domains).

Research Interests

Pedro H. Bugatti’s research lies at the intersection of Computer Vision, Machine Learning, and Complex Data, with a focus on developing methods for analyzing and understanding diverse data types. His main areas of interest include:

  • Computer Vision
    • Ex: Segmentation, Description, Recognition
